Typing mistakes are common when producing a manuscript and even with spellcheckers picking up many mistakes not all errors show up. Copy-editing will identify the majority of these mistakes prior to the manuscript being converted into book format. It is the proofreader's role to:
- Ensure a consistent style has been used throughout
- Check layout and headings etc.
- Check running heads; page numbers; and page depths are not too short or too long
Not being fastidious in your book's presentation can spoil what would be a professional look and feel. The good news is that this is offered within the standard price.
